The event is now celebrating 35 years. The festival attracts with various cultural events such as art exhibitions, fairy tales, lectures, dance but the program also includes elements with snow such as snow yoga, snow lung race, dog sledding and winter bingo.

The element most perhaps associated with the snow festival is the international snow sculpture competition which attracts artists from all over the world. This year there are six teams from India, Russia, Germany, Spain and one local team.

On Saturday, a jury will select which snow sculpture has won the jury award, but there is also a prize that the audience has voted for.
