January 25, 202023.34 Three protesters were shot in Iraq in the clearing of streets and squares occupied for months in protest by law enforcement officials. The violent blitzes arrive the day after the announcement of the populist religious leader, Moqtada Sadr, who would no longer support the youth movement who now fear that the withdrawal will pave the way for the authorities to crack down on the movement. And so new riots broke out across the country: two dead and around 20 injured in Nassiria; one dead and over 40 injured in clashes in Baghdad.
