Tour Down Under: 2nd stage victory for Ewan, Impey talonne Porte - France 24

Richie Porte is only three seconds ahead of double titleholder Daryl Impey after the 4th stage of the Tour Down Under, won Friday by Caleb Ewan.

It was the second stage win in the Tour of South Australia for Ewan (Lotto-Soudal), who took over Sprint's Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-Quick Step) and Jasper Philipsen (UAE Team Emirates).

Richie Porte (Trek-Segafredo) battled headwinds at the end of the stage but managed to stick to the leading pack and stay first in the general classification, where he retained three seconds of the South African Impey, who grabbed three seconds of bonus to intermediate sprints, well helped by his team Mitchelton-Scott.

"On days like this, we have a lot to lose. The last 60 kilometers have been hectic. It's good to get out unscathed," said the Australian, winner of the 2017 edition.
