January 24, 2020A "protective barrier" to protect the Fontana di Trevi basin from excessive numbers of visitors, and which "prevents you from sitting on the edge". Barriers that will be built according to the technical requirements provided by the superintendencies.

This is what is foreseen in a motion approved by the Rome junta on a proposal by Andrea Coia (M5S). The motion is not limited to protecting the Trevi Fountain but also to creating fixed garrisons to the access roads to the Colosseum area with an anti-abusive function.

The commitment for the mayor Raggi and the junta, which he approved with 24 votes in favor and only one abstention, is also aimed at "giving appropriate instructions to the command of the local police of Roma Capitale so that: an enhanced fixed garrison is set up which also includes the control of the access routes to the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum area "and" a continuous patrol on foot of via dei Fori Imperiali via del Corso, via del Babbuino, via Condotti and Piazza di Spagna is established ".

The motion, entitled "Respect for the symbolic places of Rome Capital", aims to "undertake all necessary actions aimed at implementing effective communication for the respect of dignity by citizens and tourists also through the stipulation of memorandums of understanding with all public and private entities interested in collaborating to achieve this goal ".

Among the premises of the document we want to remember that the new provisions aim to prohibit sitting on the monuments symbol of Rome and prevent them from becoming areas of commercial unauthorism.
