Here is the list of countries that have reported cases of SARS-like coronavirus disease since it spread from Wuhan in east-central China, where it first appeared in December.

A total of 830 people were infected, mainly in China, 26 of whom died, according to the latest official report to date.


The first case in South Korea is that of a 35-year-old Chinese woman who arrived in Seoul on January 19 by plane from Wuhan.

A 50-year-old who worked in Wuhan also tested positive.


A man in his thirties who stayed in the Wuhan area was hospitalized near Seattle (west coast), where he returned on January 15, authorities said on January 21. He contacted the health services himself on January 19, after the onset of symptoms. His condition is considered satisfactory.

A second case was registered on January 24, that of a sixty-year-old woman who arrived from Wuhan on January 13 and lives in Chicago. "She is doing well clinically," according to local health officials.


The first case in Japan is that of a thirties who had to be hospitalized on January 10 for a high fever and other symptoms. He had returned a few days earlier from a stay in Wuhan.

A second case was announced on January 24, a forties who lives in Wuhan, arrived on the 19th in the Japanese archipelago and who had "felt fever on January 14.

Singapore announced on January 23 the first case of coronavirus, a 66-year-old man who had arrived from Wuhan three days earlier with fever and coughing.

His 37-year-old son, who accompanied him, also tested positive.

The first case recorded in Taiwan is that of a woman in her 50s who arrived on January 20 from Wuhan, where she lives, suffering from a fever, coughing and a sore throat at Taoyuan airport. from the capital Taipei.


The first case of contamination outside of China was identified in Thailand on January 8: a woman returning from a trip to Wuhan.

Three other cases have since been recorded, bringing the total to four: three Chinese from Wuhan and a Thai woman who had stayed in the city.

Two of the Chinese were cured and returned to their country.


Two Chinese men, a man who arrived on January 13 from Wuhan, and his son who lived in Ho Chi Minh City, southern Vietnam, whom he subsequently infected, were hospitalized on January 17 and 18, respectively, on the Vietnamese territory after being tested positive for coronavirus, authorities said on January 23.




Two people who stayed in Wuhan tested positive in Hong Kong, where they were hospitalized.


Macau authorities announced on January 22 the first confirmed case in this semi-autonomous region of China of the coronavirus, a 52-year-old businesswoman who had arrived three days earlier by train from the neighboring Chinese city of Zhuhai.

A second case has since been recorded.
