The corresponding statement was made in response to a question at a briefing on the article by the Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Moravecki on the Second World War.

According to Zakharova, this is not an isolated case, but the approach of a part of the political elite of Poland, who for a certain purpose have chosen a historical theme.

“There are a number of reasons: the first is, of course, a rewriting of history ... the second is the maintenance of one’s own political interests and the third is, I think, the service of foreign political interests,” the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized.

According to her, Russia became aware of the development and approval by Poland of measures for “classical misinformation,” in the framework of which it was decided to publish this deliberately false article.

“According to our data ... recently, at the appropriate level in Poland, it was decided to start a large-scale disinformation campaign against our country on directly historical topics related to the Second World War and in our case the Great Patriotic War,” she said.

Earlier, Zakharova called suicide an article by Moravecki on the Second World War. In particular, he claims in it that the Red Army “did not liberate” Warsaw.
