The news of trying to introduce opportunities for a municipal bed fee was presented in Sälen on Thursday in conjunction with the S Committee members visiting the area.
A guest fee of SEK 30 per night for each tourist who stays overnight would for Malung-Sälen extra income of almost SEK 29 million a year.
This type of bed fee is found in several other European countries, but a change in the law is required if the fee is to be introduced in Sweden.
