According to TASS with reference to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan, a 40-year-old Chinese citizen who recently returned from Wuhan was hospitalized with pneumonia in Tokyo.

The Office urges people not to panic, and also recommends wearing masks and washing their hands thoroughly.

In late December, Chinese authorities reported an outbreak of pneumonia of unknown origin in Wuhan. It was preliminary established that the causative agent was a new type of coronavirus - 2019-nCoV, which is transmitted from person to person.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has refrained from declaring an international emergency regime in connection with the outbreak of a new coronavirus.
