So, Maxim Topilin was appointed to the post of chairman of the board of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation, since 2012 he worked as Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, Anton Drozdov, who headed the FIU since 2008, was appointed deputy minister of finance. Earlier, Anton Kotyakov, who headed the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, was dismissed from this post.

The formation of a new government

Recall, on January 15, during the annual message to the Federal Assembly, President Vladimir Putin proposed a number of amendments to the Russian Constitution, which, in particular, will be aimed at making "the interaction between the representative and executive branches of government" more effective, meaningful. So, the head of state suggested instructing the State Duma not only to coordinate, but also to confirm the candidacy of the prime minister.

“I propose changing this order and entrusting the State Duma with not just approval, but approval of the candidacy of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, and then, on his proposal, on the proposal of the Prime Minister and all vice-prime ministers and federal ministers. In this case, the president will be obliged to appoint them to the post, that is, he will not have the right to reject the candidatures of the relevant officials approved by the parliament, ”Putin said.

Later that day, for the time being, former Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced the resignation of his government.

“These changes, when they are adopted, and, in all likelihood, will be done after discussion, as was said, will introduce significant changes not only in a number of articles of the Constitution, but also in general in the balance of power - the executive, legislative , judicial authorities, ”Medvedev said.

Following this, the president proposed the candidacy of the head of the Federal Tax Service, the current state adviser to the Russian Federation of the 1st class, Mikhail Mishustin for the post of chairman of the government. The State Duma approved his candidacy on January 16.

On January 21, Vladimir Putin appointed new cabinet members under the leadership of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
