US President Donald Trump said that there were injuries sustained by American soldiers during the American attack in which the Iranian General Qassem Soleimani was killed in Iraq, describing these injuries as "not very serious."

"I heard that they had a headache, I can say it is not a serious injury," Trump said, on Wednesday, to reporters at a press conference at the end of his two-day participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Trump said he learned of the casualties among American soldiers in this attack, days after the attack by Iran against two US forces bases in Iraq in response to the killing of Soleimani on January 3, which ignited tensions between the United States and Iran.

Trump's comments came in response to a reporter's question following a bilateral meeting earlier today with Iraqi President Barham Saleh on the sidelines of the Davos summit.
