A degree from a nursing school is the ticket to a certificate - which in turn can give a job as a nurse in the EU.

Just over a year ago, Assignment Review revealed how to bluff into a credential with genuine documents.

With the help of diplomas from nursing schools in Romania, bluffing nurses had obtained Romanian and Swedish credentials, even though they did not participate in the teaching.

"Didn't know what paracetamol was"

The fraud is difficult to see when a person enrolls in a school and pays for the place, and the school certifies that the student has been present full time. But in fact, the student has been somewhere else. Assignment review could show that several people have been written and worked in Sweden - with completely different jobs.

When "Alex" was employed at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, colleagues reacted and sounded alarms to their managers. Several heard about the report, one of them writes:

“We have long suspected that he cannot be a real nurse. When he started, he didn't know what paracetamol (Alvedon) was, he didn't know how to take blood tests. "

"Alex" was investigated

After the disclosure, “Alex” was investigated by Sahlgrenska. The hospital called the school which admitted that he was partially absent, but claimed that he had taken up both teaching and practice in the spring of 2012. By then, according to the Assignment Review Survey, he had moved to Sweden and read Swedish for immigrants at ABF.

The conclusion of Sahlgrenska's investigation was that he could continue working. This summer he got a new and more advanced job - at the neurosurgical clinic.

"We have done a thorough investigation and therefore we have not found any reason why he should not work as a nurse and we have no deviations and we have no incidents regarding his treatment of patients," says Per Albertsson, Area Manager Sahlgrenska.

"Nothing that has reached us"

But even in the new department, colleagues have reacted, many who Assignment Review spoke to say that "Alex" gives an ignorant and inexperienced impression, even though he has now worked for several years.

- There is nothing that has been mentioned to their managers and nothing that has reached us in any way, says Per Albertsson.

“Alex” has not been able to explain why his final year of study in Romania is in conflict with the presence of the SFI studies in Sweden. In an email to Mission Review, “Alex” writes that he has not heard any complaints from colleagues at the neurosurgeon and points out that he did not cause any injury.

After the interview with Sahlgrenska, "Alex" has resigned on his own request, with immediate effect. He recently got a new job - as a nurse in the home care service.
