  • Elisa Pilarski died on November 16, 2019, as a result of dog bites, in a forest in Aisne.
  • The investigation has been open for more than two months to find out which dogs are responsible for his death.
  • A gendarmerie commander, who was following a nearby hunting hunt, has left his post.

DNA tests are long overdue. Elisa Pilarski's death has remained unanswered for more than two months. On Saturday November 16, 2019, this young woman of 29 years old was found dead in the heart of the Retz forest, in Aisne. She had gone for a walk with one of her five dogs. The autopsy demonstrated that the death was due to dog bites. The time of death was set between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

However, a hunt with hounds was organized in the sector. In the process, a judicial investigation had been opened against X, concerning an "attack committed by dogs". The investigation should allow to know the exact circumstances of the death of the young woman several months pregnant. "The fact that she is pregnant can explain the overexcitement of the dog or dogs and this could have provoked this aggression," emphasizes Bertrand Beuns, dog trainer.

Two opposing versions

But beyond this hypothesis, two versions oppose. The testimony of Elisa Pilarski's companion, relating the discovery of his wife's body, cast suspicion on the responsibility of the pack dogs. "I called my wife and Curtis, our dog. Then Curtis barked. He was in a ditch. I saw 30 hunting dogs come down. I moved away, ”he says in The Union . The latter also claims to have encountered, in the forest, riders and people leaning on a car.

In a press release, the hunting company recalled, at the time, that "nothing demonstrated the involvement of hunting dogs in the death of this woman", mentioning in particular the time of death which "seemed not to correspond with the presence of the pack in the forest in this sector at the time of the facts ”, and“ the absence of bite marks on the dogs of the crew, [proving] that there had been no fights ”.

Missing dogs?

To determine which biting animals were, 67 dogs were DNA sampled: the couple's 5 dogs and 62 dogs from the Le passione passion rally association. However, the prosecution had originally spoken of 93 levies. What happened to the 26 missing dogs? Contacted by 20 Minutes , the prosecutor did not follow up.

Another question that remains unanswered: why was Curtis, the couple's dog, impounded and not the pack dogs? Elisa's companion, Christophe E., has been trying for several weeks to have his dog transferred to a suitable reception structure.

He also plans to hire a lawyer to defend the rights of the animal. A pot had been opened to collect donations. However, this Wednesday, Christophe E. denounces, on social networks, the diversion of the amount collected. "A procedure will be initiated with Leetchi through the family," he says.

Resignation of a gendarmerie boss

Finally, on the sidelines of this case, the boss of the gendarmes of Aisne, announced last week, that he was leaving office to "follow his wife in private", according to L'Union . The gendarme was in the forest on the day of the drama. He had explained, still in L'Union , that he had followed the hunt with his family. He took up his duties as commander of the Aisne gendarmerie group in August 2017.

The investigation, initially entrusted to the research section of the gendarmerie of Amiens, in the Somme, had finally landed in the hands of the judicial police of Creil, in the Oise.
