January 21, 2020 The Republican President of the US Senate, Mitch McConnell, has presented the resolution that dictates the timing of the impeachment process against Trump, and compresses the deadline given to the prosecution and defense to present their opening arguments in just two days. 16 hours of questions will follow from the senators. Only after this phase will it be possible to present motions to ask for witnesses and documents. The resolution marries Trump's willingness to close the process quickly.

Republicans want "a rigged trial " to cover the president's conduct: so the seven democratic managers who represent the accusation in the impeachment of Donald Trump attack the resolution presented by the Senate majority Republican leader Mitch McConnell. Resolution that gives dem 24 hours in two days to expose and motivate the accusations against the tycoon.

Democratic MP Adam Schiff said, "They squeeze the length of the trial" to make sure that the hearings "end late at night" when "Americans don't watch." These "are not rules of a fair trial. They are the rules of a rigged trial".

Republicans determined to stop Bolton hearing
Donald Trump and the Republican leadership are absolutely determined to prevent the testimony in the impeachment process of former national security adviser John Bolton, who said he was willing to testify if quoted with a warrant. The Washington Post reveals it. The tycoon has already anticipated that it will exercise executive privilege, while the White House has evoked with some Republican senators the possibility of resorting to federal courts to stop the testimony if Bolton refuses to respect the presidential prerogative.

But the Republicans also have a plan B, in case the 47 Democratic senators find four other Republican senators to approve Bolton's hearing: a 'classified' deposition for national security reasons. In this way the testimony would not be disclosed and any damage could be contained. In any case, the Republicans have made it clear that in case they would also call texts, including the former vice-president Joe Biden and his son Hunter.
