"World Day against Homophobia and Transphobia offers the opportunity to reflect on the centrality of human dignity and on the right of every person to live life without suffering discrimination. The full realization of this freedom, which must belong to everyone, independently from the sexual orientation of people, it is essential for the construction of an order that guarantees full respect for fundamental rights and constitutes a pillar of civil coexistence, in application of the principle of equality enshrined in art. 3 of the Constitution ". This was stated by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella on the occasion of the world day against homophobia and transphobia. "The maturity of our society is measured by the ability to reject any form of intolerance. Intolerance has its roots in prejudice and must be contrasted through information, knowledge, dialogue, respect. The non-acceptance of diversity it generates violence and therefore must be contrasted with determination. It is unacceptable that the sexual orientation of people is the pretext for offenses and aggressions. Just as it is unacceptable that this leads to discrimination in the workplace and in economic and social activities. Behind these forms of degeneration of civilian life there is the refusal to know and accept the peculiarities of each "adds the president recalling that the" Constitution requires, in article 2, to guarantee full respect for everyone's fundamental rights, not only as an individual but also in the training social networks in which his personality is realized.
