Lena Hallengren (S): "It's about providing skills"

- It is about working with the provision of skills, it will never be possible to increase access if we do not have enough staff, says Hallengren, highlighting the government's newly established "nursing competence council" that will streamline the provision of skills in care.

The number of care places has dropped steadily over the last thirteen years. Do you want more care places?

- I want there to be enough care places.

Hallengren continues:

- But the reason why the places of care are declining are more effective treatments, none of us want to stay in for the sake of it.

The Medical Association believes that one reason why the emergency rooms are full is that the health centers are under-dimensioned. Do you agree?

- It is very important that you get a permanent doctor in primary care. This is something that we work with a lot.

That has been said for years and it doesn't seem to work?

- Yes, but no decision has really been made in the Riksdag that everyone should have the right to a permanent doctor and also ensure that there are resources for it.
