Alain Brochet no longer sleeps on his two ears. The former mayor of Ceyrat (Puy-de-Dôme), sentenced in December 2019 to a fine of 15,000 euros for embezzlement of public funds, decided to file a complaint for "assassination attempt", reports La Montagne on Monday. He denounces an accumulation of disturbing facts.

The day after his appearance in court in November, the former city councilor, who now resides in Portugal, claims to have received a threatening letter at his postal address in Chamalières. Between two insults and references to the trial, the author of the letter wrote: "Eternal rest and goodbye forever". A few days later, the tires of his car were "punctured with a knife", he explains, quoted by the regional daily.

Suspicions of sabotage

The facts do not stop there. On December 20, en route to Lyon, Alain Brochet broke down. The town councilor is convinced that his vehicle has been sabotaged. “After 100 km on the highway, suddenly my steering no longer worked. In fact, my radiator had been pushed in and the power steering hose had been severed. The following week, he discovered that the bolts on his front wheels had been "unscrewed".

This is too much for the former mayor, who decided to file a complaint against X for "attempted homicide with premeditation and threat of death". The prosecutor of Clermont-Ferrand confirmed the opening of an investigation.
