Sharjah Criminal Court sentenced a young Gulf man to six months in prison, after being convicted of driving recklessly, endangering his life and the lives of others, as during his pursuit by security teams he cut 12 red traffic lights, at a speed exceeding 160 km / h, and almost caused Two runaway accidents and three serious accidents on key roads, in addition to his resistance and assault on the police, while the second accused who was accompanying him while driving his friend at a crazy speed, was acquitted.

The court had listened to a witness of arrest in the case, who confirmed that during his work he received a report from the operating room, stating that there was a vehicle coming from Ajman towards Sharjah driven by a young man recklessly, indicating that he saw the car that the young man is driving crossing a red traffic light, and behind it an investigation vehicle chasing it.

He added that the speed of the car exceeded 160 km / hour, pointing out that during the chase of the young man he refused to obey the orders of patrols, cut off 12 traffic lights, and almost caused traffic accidents, including a runaway accident, and hit the police car, indicating that more than 10 police patrols She was chasing the accused without success.

He pointed out that after a period of persecution, the police patrols tried to overtake him more than once and did not allow her to do so, indicating that he collided with one of the sidewalks, which caused the police patrol to advance and stop him.

He explained that he had gone down from the police patrol to control the accused, but he tried to shock him, which made him take out his weapon and fired a shot in the air, after which the accused returned the vehicle about 200 meters, which made him shoot at the back tires to force him to stop while trying to escape, pointing out that he He went to the vehicle and removed the accused from it after he prevented him from escaping, and during the process of installing it he refused and resisted, but he was able to handcuff his hands with the second defendant who was next to him.

The suspect had confessed, during investigations and before the prosecution, of driving at a crazy speed and cutting traffic lights while being chased by police officers from Ajman to Sharjah.

While the second young man, who was acquitted by the court during the previous sessions, insisted that he did not resist the policemen, and confirmed that he did not participate in the driving but was sitting with the car with the accused.

The accused almost caused two accidents, three serious accidents and a police car.
