January 21, 2020 Jeff Bezos, Amazon owner and publisher of the Washington Post, was allegedly hacked in 2018 after receiving a WhatsApp message apparently sent from the personal account of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohamed bin Salman.

The British newspaper "The Guardian" wrote it, citing its exclusive sources about an IT expertise carried out on Bezos' smart phone.

According to the newspaper, the experts believe it "highly probable" that in the message, which started from a number in use by MbS and containing a video, a malware could hide itself, capable of immediately stealing a quantity of data, which the Guardian claims is not able to specify.

The cyber attack on Bezos allegedly occurred on May 1, 2018, five months before the assassination of the Washington Post journalist and Saudi dissident, Jamal Khasoggi, in the consulate of the Arab kingdom in Istanbul on October 2 of the same year. In February 2019, the American tabloid 'National inquirer' published photos and private messages of Bezos about his extramarital relationship and the origin of that material remain unsolved questions.
