It was a 36-year-old man found dead in Malmberget on July 20, 2015. At the time, according to police, it was unclear whether the man was murdered or not. However, the circumstances made them unable to exclude crime.

The 31-year-old man was already suspected and questioned by police at an early stage, but was released on foot just over a week later. Now the police have found new evidence and the investigation has taken off again. They have chosen not to comment on what in the investigation, which points to the 31-year-old man is probably suspected of murder.

"The man has been detained in his absence since September 2019 and now one must hold a detention hearing where he is present," said prosecutor Anna Väppling.
