"Secretary of State Pompeo and Foreign Minister Maas have discussed continuing international efforts to support a lasting ceasefire, return to the political process and end foreign intervention in Libya," the State Department said in a statement.

It is noted that the parties during the negotiations supported the sovereignty of Libya.

They also discussed Afghanistan and “the need to confront Iran’s aggressive and destabilizing actions in the Middle East.”

Earlier, Pompeo held talks in Berlin with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu to resolve the situation in Libya.
