The business opened in the spring of 2019 at the family center in Kramfors. Already after the summer, more staff were added when more parents heard that they needed help with childcare in the evenings and weekends, so called inconvenient working hours.

Now the business is expanded even more and the municipality has the opportunity to receive more children. They therefore want to make more parents aware that night ice cream exists.
- There are many benefits of night ice cream, both for parents and employers, says Fredrik Östlund, Head of Unit at Kramfors Municipality.

A twelve-year-old girl is on the night of the day when SVT is visiting. She thrives there, but says that it is sometimes sad when they are not so many more children there.

What do you usually do when you are at night ice?
- I'm watching TV or on the phone. Sometimes I go or go to open preschool and do volts on a mattress, she says.

To be able to meet every single parent and child, Fredrik Östlund explains that it is important to be flexible on the business, so that all parents have the same conditions, regardless of working hours.
- It places more demands on us and our business, than on the parents, says Fredrik Östlund.

Today, nighttime operations are conducted in all municipalities in Västernorrland, except in Ånge.
