More than a thousand people have demonstrated on Sunday in the Bonavista neighborhood of Tarragona until they reach the La Canonja soccer field to ask for more security after the explosion at the Iqoxe company last Tuesday, which caused three dead and seven wounded.
Convened by the Bonavista neighborhood association, the protesters carried a banner that read "We demand security. We want answers" , and have claimed that the accident and the "unfortunate" emergency management do not go unpunished.
The president of the association, Loli Gutiérrez , informed reporters today that this entity will file a class action lawsuit against the IQOXE company for the damages caused , especially in the housing blocks of streets 1, 2 and 3 of the neighborhood.
Gutierrez has estimated about 200 residents affected by the consequences of the explosion in the aforementioned company.
The neighborhood of Bonavista is the one that is closest to the factory affected by a large explosion, which was followed by a huge flare and a strong tremor , and also felt in nearby municipalities, such as Vila-seca and La Canonja.
In this event, three people have died, one of them a neighbor who was in his house, and seven others have been injured of various considerations , of which two are still admitted to the burn unit of the Vall d'Hebron Hospital from Barcelona.
