Extract from the poster for the film "Marche avec les loups" by Jean-Michel Bertrand. Bertrand Bodin / Gedeka Films

After the film " The Valley of the Wolves " , Jean-Michel Bertrand realizes his second opus " Marche avec les loups " . A 300 km filmed hike from the Alps to the Jura, in the footsteps of mountain canids, in cinemas in France.

A return to the wild. It is once again the bet of Jean-Michel Bertrand, in immersion for two years in the heart of the Alpine and Jura mountains. Over 300 km, the director investigates wolves and mountain wildlife. " I want to know more about these young nomadic wolves ," he explains in voiceover in the trailer.

However, it is not a simple animal documentary, specifies the director. Jean-Michel Bertrand is himself an actor in his film, as are the animals he observes. The journey of an enthusiast, in which wolves are no longer the villains of history.

Call for boycott

Visually prodigious, the film advocates peaceful coexistence with wolves , a species reintroduced in France in 1992. A message far from being unanimous in a region where shepherds deplore the attacks of wolves against their flocks. The distribution of the documentary, considered pro-wolves, was also the subject of a boycott call in the Hautes-Alpes region. Walking with wolves is therefore the advocate of this endangered wild species.
