AS Saint-Etienne said on Saturday that it had reached an agreement for the transfer of its Slovenian international striker Robert Beric to the Chicago Fire club (MLS, United States).

The amount of the transaction has not been specified, but it is, according to various sources, about 2 million euros (bonus included) about a player who did not enter the plans of coach Claude Puel but who had extended his contract by three years at the start of 2019.

Beric (28, 24 caps in the Slovenian team, 2 goals) arrived in Saint-Etienne at the end of August 2015 from Rapid Vienne for a transfer of around 6.5 million euros.

He has played with the Greens 103 games for a total of 34 goals but he has never crossed the bar of nine goals per season in the French league (2018-2019, 9 goals, 23 games).

Robert Beric had been loaned to Anderlecht at the start of the 2017-2018 season but this temporary transfer was interrupted in January 2018 for a return to ASSE when the striker had not scored any goals for the Belgian club.
