A team from the Ras Al Khaimah Emergency and Crisis Department visited the homes of citizens in the rain-affected Al Fahalin area, which the country recently witnessed, and destroyed their property, as 45 members of the team were inspected from local institutions in Ras Al Khaimah, including the Ras Al Khaimah Police and the Civil Defense Department, The General Services Department, the Municipal Department, and the “Red Crescent” Ras Al-Khaimah branch, houses are accompanied by their owners, and the damage to furniture and electrical appliances has been recorded, in order to determine the financial compensation that will be paid to the affected people.

The "Emirates Red Crescent" - Ras Al-Khaimah branch extended, for the second time, the period of housing of the affected citizens in the region, with hotels and hotel apartments for several days, until the completion of cleaning their homes from rain water and torrents waste, and taking the necessary measures by the Emergency and Crisis Management Committee.

A member of the Ras Al Khaimah Emergency and Crisis Management Committee told Emirates Today that the committee would meet this week, after completing the monitoring of the damage and recording it, and would report to the relevant authorities to take the appropriate action.

The citizen, Khaled al-Naqbi, said that a team from the Emergency and Crisis Department visited, last Thursday, his family's house, which was severely damaged, as rainwater entered all the rooms, the hall and the council, and caused damage to the couch, a medical bed belonging to a member of his family, kitchen appliances, carpets and furniture bedrooms.

He pointed out that the furniture of the house is no longer suitable for use again, to enter the muddy water washed away by the Negev Valley, throughout the house, and the house became in need of maintenance as a result of the erosion of its walls, following the flow of the valley's water strongly, and causing cracks in the outer walls of the house.

The citizen, Rashid al-Naqbi, stated that the committee visited his family’s house, last week, and monitored the damage of furniture and electrical appliances, in addition to the damage to the building of the house, and pointed out that all the observations and damages that were caused to the house were recorded in order to evaluate and determine the appropriate compensation, according to What the committee team mentioned.

He added that his family is still living in one of the hotel apartments in Ras Al-Khaimah, until the house is finished cleaning, maintaining, and providing the appropriate furniture, so that they can return normally.

He stressed that the competent authorities should quickly implement solutions in the Al-Fahalin area, to reduce the frequency of the Negev Valley flooding citizens ’homes again, and expedite the payment of compensation for the return of residents to their homes.

The citizen, Abdullah Khamis, stated that the Seoul Negev Valley had reached a height of about one meter in his house, and had damaged the electrical network, furniture and electrical appliances, and destroyed all his cooking tools and textbooks for his children.

He explained that his vehicle was damaged and drowned as a result of the strong flowing of the valley, as livestock died on his farm, trees were damaged, and the wall of the farm fell, and pointed out that compensation should include citizens' farms, including livestock that died, and the damage to groundwater wells.
