“The resignation of the government must be taken absolutely calmly, this is not unusual,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Medvedev noted that the resignation of the government is a common practice throughout the world.

According to him, when the government is formed, the president and prime minister always discuss the issue of potential resignation.

On January 15, the Russian government resigned. Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted to the State Duma the candidacy of the head of the Federal Tax Service, Mikhail Mishustin, for the post of chairman of the Cabinet.

Later, the deputies approved the candidacy of Mishustin. The president signed a decree on his appointment.
