A couple of wild boars was located last night in the urban area of the Madrid neighborhood of Las Tablas, near the headquarters of BBVA and this same afternoon another copy has been recorded crossing the A-1 at the height of the Manoteras Knot.

Sources from the Environment area have indicated that they are waiting for the Community of Madrid, as a competent body in the treatment of this type of animals, to grant them permission to capture them and transfer them alive to a center specialized in wildlife.

Neighbors of the neighborhood have spread images of two copies of wild boar on social networks walking along a sidewalk on a boulevard in the Las Tablas neighborhood, very close to the BBVA headquarters.

In the video recorded from a car, he expresses his surprise at the discovery of these animals in the city of Madrid.

For their part, from the Environment area of the City Council they have indicated that the wildlife competition is regional but, when located on urban land, it will be municipal personnel who capture these animals to take them to a specific center.

Consequently, a permit has already been requested for this and it is waiting for the Community of Madrid to grant such authorization.

The presence of wild boars in urban centers has occurred so far especially in municipalities in the northwest, in towns such as Torrelodones, Majadahonda or Las Rozas, among others. In 2018 they held a meeting to coordinate actions for the presence of these animals.

In June of this year, the local Police of Torrelodones, in the northwest of the region, scared away a wild boar herd composed of ten specimens that had broken into the city center after a neighbor alerted that they were next to The Church Square.

Traffic accidents caused by wild boars have shot up 47 percent in the last two years, as can be seen from the IV Report of the Center for Ponle Freno-AXA Road Safety Studies on vehicle collisions against animals
