And it called in a guide issued recently, to avoid using unnecessary packaging and shopping bags, and encourage businesses to reduce the use of plastic bags, calling for a reduction in the institutions' use of paper.

She also called for encouraging individuals to reuse waste instead of disposing it, to contribute to reducing the cost of collecting, transporting and treating waste or disposing of it, and increasing environmental benefits, pointing to the necessity of obligating establishments to reuse certain types of waste generated in them, if that was less harmful to the environment From getting rid of it.

She pointed to the importance of educating and sensitizing community members on the importance of separating household waste from the source, to recyclable waste, non-recyclable waste, and hazardous waste, as well as activating the terms of separation of waste in residential areas, by linking them to the building permit, sustainability certificate, and other tools binding on developers Residential complexes.

She stated that it is necessary to provide suitable containers to separate waste in public places, and establish waste collection centers in residential communities, to encourage individuals to separate waste, in addition to providing transport vehicles that prevent leakage, and to maintain their maintenance periodically.

She pointed to the importance of providing safe storage places for waste by industrial and commercial waste generators, and handing over their waste to the competent authority in the emirate, or the concerned authority authorized by the competent authority in the emirate, adding that those waste generators must fully disclose to the competent authority the content and type of waste , Its potential risks and precautions required through a document containing waste data.

"The community members must dispose of household hazardous waste, such as batteries, fluorescent lamp tubes, compact fluorescent lamps, or energy-saving lamps, solvent and paint cans, and the like, separately at the specified hazardous waste collection points."

She stressed the necessity of separating agricultural waste, to facilitate and support the production of high-quality organic fertilizers, while updating the specifications for the production of organic fertilizer, in cooperation with the competent authorities in the state, to target the use of most organic waste, except for what is proven to be contaminated with heavy materials, or materials that affect fertilizer quality.
