An octogenarian lost his life on Wednesday in the fire that ravaged his building in Castries, near Montpellier (Hérault). When help arrived, the man, discovered unconscious on the ground floor, was taken care of.
He died, despite an attempt at resuscitation by the fire brigade.
Nothing is known, for the moment, of the causes of the fire, which mobilized thirty fire soldiers. Two apartments and two houses adjoining the house were damaged. Five people have also been evacuated and will have to be relocated.
