"Is Santa Claus a junk?" The OGC Nice mocked Thursday a sanction imposed on it by the Professional Football League (LFP), for having wearing a Christmas cap of the children accompanying the players on the lawn during a pre-match of Ligue 1.

On December 21, during the match between Nice and Toulouse at the Allianz Riviera, the young children accompanying the players of the two teams all wore a Christmas hat at the entry of the teams on the field.

The League saw red and chose to sanction the Riviera club for having posed the children with this headdress with white ponpon.

The OGC Nice, which confirmed this sanction to AFP, published on its website a photo of this scene accompanied by the title "is Santa Claus a junk" and an ironic questionnaire.

"For you it is: Answer 1: Cute, festive, it's the Christmas spirit. Answer 2: Outrageous. The OGC Nice deserves a suspended fine of € 2,000. If you answered 2, you can apply to sit on the LFP Competitions Commission ", writes the club.

On the evening of the match, Father Christmas was more on the side of the Nice people who had punished the Toulousans 3-0 and joined the top 10 in the ranking just before the holidays.
