It will be the Giunta for the Regulation of Palazzo Madama to decide, tomorrow morning, whether the first vote of the Senate on the authorization to proceed against Matteo Salvini, on the affair of the Gregoretti ship, will arrive on Monday or only after the regional elections in Emilia Romagna and Calabria.

The tug of war between majority and opposition goes on all day. Early in the morning, in the courtroom, after yesterday's stalemate, Lega, FdI and FI are asking for the intervention of the Board, strong in numbers in their favor given the failure to rebalance the guarantee body after the majority change, by the Count 1 to Count 2: six representatives from the center-right, four from Pd and M5S.

The Giallorossi are not there and they call into question the President of the Senate Elisabetta Casellati, asking her to integrate the parliamentary body with two new members. The second state office for days has been in the spotlight. There are several accusations that come from the majority compared to his alleged excessive proximity to Matteo Salvini. "I want to clarify. Formation five to five exists: I am not the sixth member of the opposition," she makes clear by speaking from the highest seat of the assembly. Shortly afterwards, however, the two are together at Palazzo Giustiniani for a conference on anti-Semitism. Then some voices give them face to face at lunch, but the meeting is immediately denied by both the League and the press office of the Senate. In the afternoon the majority request is granted: tomorrow also Julia Unterberger (president of the Autonomie group) and Loredana De Petris (president of the Mixed group) will be called upon to decide whether the Immunity Committee will have to adapt to the stop from 20 to 24 January scheduled for the classroom and the commissions of Palazzo Madama in view of the regional elections.

Now majority and minority are in a condition of equality: six against six. Should a vote be reached, in the event of a tie, as per the Senate regulations, the opposite votes will prevail. So at this point much will depend on how the minority (who asked for the intervention of the government to settle the matter) will formulate the question. "The integration of the Junta for the regulation is certainly a positive fact. We will see tomorrow what the minority will ask the senators to confirm the vote on Monday 20 on Gregoretti", comments the president of the senators Pd Andrea Marcucci. In any case, it now seems difficult for a postponement of the elections junta.

Net of twists, therefore, the vote on the Salvini trial will take place on Monday starting at 5 pm in Sant'Ivo alla Sapienza. According to the numbers, the opinion of President Maurizio Gasparri to reject the authorization to proceed advanced by the Court of Catania will be rejected, providing - this is the fear of the majority who are vigorously fighting for the postponement - new material for the leader's propaganda of the Carroccio in view of the decisive challenges in Emilia Romagna and Calabria.

On Monday, the League secretary will still be in the election campaign in the historic red stronghold and from there he could comment on the verdict of the para-jurisdictional organ, launching his latest attacks on Stefano Bonaccini. In reality, it will then be the courtroom of Palazzo Madama that will have to express itself, sending - if the numbers are also confirmed at the assembly - the former Interior Minister to trial on charges of kidnapping for blocking the landing on the coasts of the 131 shipwrecked, guests on the military ship.
