They had already mobilized last fall massively. Again, German farmers will leave their countryside to protest in the city. Berlin will be at the heart of this mobilization orchestrated by distinct groups with different objectives. At a time when the environment is at the heart of concerns, agriculture has a bad press.

The tractors will invade Berlin. Two days in a row, the center of the German capital will be paralyzed by demonstrations by farmers with different, even antagonistic, objectives. All are taking advantage of the opening of "Green Week", the world's largest agricultural fair, to demonstrate.

On the one hand, as every year on this occasion, a movement supported by a hundred organizations calls for greener, more environmentally friendly agriculture. The participants protest against industrial production methods and denounce European subsidies which favor large conventional farms.

Another movement born a few months ago thanks to social networks is mobilizing this Friday. His supporters criticize the measures of the government last September, badly received by the profession. It concerns better consideration of animal welfare, restrictions on the use of pesticides or excessive application of fertilizers harmful to the water table. These measures are part of the government's climate plan to limit greenhouse gas emissions.

This mobilization reflects the uneasiness of a profession which feeds the country but is at the same time denounced for its lack of respect for the environment.
