“According to the investigation, in the period from 2001 to 2004, the former justice of the peace Nalchik, on the pretext of borrowing, stole money from ten residents of the republic, as well as property worth a total of more than 4.7 million rubles,” the statement said.

According to the agency, the ex-judge was charged with six episodes of crimes under the article “Fraud committed with the infliction of significant damage”, two episodes under the article “Fraud committed on a large scale” and two episodes under the article “Fraud committed on an especially large scale size ”of the Criminal Code of Russia.

“The criminal case was sent to the Nalchik city court for consideration on the merits,” the report says.

Earlier, the Sverdlovsk Regional Court sentenced Oleg Gavryushin, a former judge of the Arbitration Court, to eight years in prison for a bribe in the amount of 14 million rubles.

In October 2019, Bastrykin opened a criminal case against a judge of the Anapsky District Court of the Krasnodar Territory Vladimir Starodubtsev. He is suspected of attempted fraud on a particularly large scale.

In September 2019, in Krasnodar, a former judge was sentenced to two years in prison for attempted fraud.

On July 16, 2019, the qualification collegium of judges in Moscow agreed to institute criminal proceedings against the ex-judge of the Kuzminsky district court of the capital Ruslan Yakubayev, suspected of receiving a bribe.
