The Venezuelan opposition denounced that paramilitary groups loyal to Nicolas Maduro fired, threw stones, hit and attempted to block the cars of the convoy on which the self-proclaimed interim president Juan Guaidò and the opposition parliamentarians traveled to reach the Federal Legislative Palace . Soldiers of the Bolivarian National Guard and the National Police in Venezuela are presiding over the area of ​​the Federal Legislative Palace in Caracas, home of the National Assembly. The measure comes in view of the session of Parliament convened today by Juan Guaidó, self-proclaimed interim president of the country and head of the opposition.

With riot gear and public order management, agents lined up in the areas of Plaza Bolívar, Plaza Diego Ibarren and Avenida Urdaneta in the center of the capital. The Chavista National Assembly, headed by Diosdado Cabello, and the National Assembly controlled by the opposition and chaired by Guaidó, are expected to meet at the same time as the Legislative Palace.

The opposition-controlled National Assembly in Venezuela denounces that "paramilitary groups" loyal to President Nicolas Maduro are garrisoning the area of ​​the Federal Legislative Palace of Caracas with the military. "We denounce the presence of armed paramilitary groups of the usurper regime around the Federal Legislative Palace. "Today they show themselves for what they are, a dictatorship that seized the Federal Palace," said Juan Guaidò on Twitter, sharing some images showing the military in the Parliament area in Caracas. Some opposition MPs are going to the Parliament area to find out the situation of the Federal Legislative Palace, currently manned by soldiers.
