In October last year, the rescue service was alerted to a fire in a guest house in Jämjö in Karlskrona municipality. Two men and a 16-year-old were later charged with arson and the prosecutor allegedly agreed to fire at the house.

In a surveillance film, the men are seen buying lighter fluid and gasoline of the same kind found at the crime scene. The trio have confirmed that they were in Jämjö that day but refuse to bring the fire.

Not enough evidence

According to the district court, in theory it could be a matter of alternative perpetrators and all three are therefore exempted from arson. The court finds that it is not beyond reasonable doubt that the three men committed the act.

The 16-year-old, on the other hand, is convicted of minor drug offenses, violations of the knife law and violent resistance to an incident earlier last year.

One of the other men is also convicted of minor drug offenses.
