The storm caused by the dismissals approved on Monday secretly by the Citizen Manager and advanced on Tuesday by THE WORLD has shaken the internal life of the party two months after the assembly that will elect a new leadership.

After the provisional management notified its dismissal to the critical regional leaders - in Citizens they are called spokespersons - there have been several cascaded resignations of regional and provincial officials as a protest measure. The most important of these was that of the Vice President of the Junta de Castilla y León, Francisco Igea , who on Tuesday resigned as a member of the Citizens' leadership in the region.

This Wednesday Igea has warned the Manager that it will be presented to the primary if the candidate who has more support, Inés Arrimadas, does not change the current party model. In conversation with this newspaper, Igea explained that Citizens "cannot continue to be a centralist party in which decisions are taken from top to bottom." If Arrimadas decides to make a more participatory organization, it will finally not show up and support it.

"We think that Inés Arrimadas is the best candidate, but we want to know first what her party model is. If her model is the current one, then we will introduce ourselves to approve another model," he explained clearly.

On Monday, the Manager approved the dismissal of former Vice President of Congress, Ignacio Prendes , as leader of the party in Asturias and former deputy Orlena de Miguel as spokesperson in Castilla-La Mancha. Instead, he appointed other spokespersons more related to management.

Ask to be pronounced Arrimadas

Both Prendes and De Miguel have been two of the most critical voices in the last general councils of Citizens - the highest management body between assemblies. His voice has been resounding in the organs of the party calling for more internal democracy, self-criticism and changes in the new direction.

Sources of the Manager have been very upset with both. And also with Igea himself, who does have an institutional position as number two of the Government of Castilla y León.

After hearing this fulminant decision -which was communicated to those affected by email, without explanations and about 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday-, Igea decided to resign as Secretary of Citizen Programs in Castilla y León. After him, members of the management in Valladolid , Ávila and other provinces resigned as a sign of protest at a decision that critics' sources describe as "authoritarian."

Igea has urged Inés Arrimadas on Wednesday to pronounce on these decisions of the Manager and has announced that she will meet her in the shortest possible time.

"Arrimadas is not in the Manager"

The 'number two' of Inés Arrimadas in Congress, Edmundo Bal , responded on Wednesday to journalists that the liberal spokeswoman "is not in the Manager, has not participated in these decisions and was not aware of them."

Bal has stressed that the Citizen Manager is "the legitimate governing body" of the orange formation, "even if it is transitory." And he has opined that the criteria followed to decide cessations have responded to "purely objective reasons".

The management does not officially respond to the dismissals and explains that tonight the president of the Manager, Manuel García Bofill , will clarify the reasons for them in a statement he will make in Almeria .
