Large spaces for decorations, events and official institutions were allocated by the organizing committee of the Doha International Book Fair in its thirtieth edition, which, in the opinion of observers, affected the existence of the book for which the exhibition is being held, while the organizing committee believes that this contributed to attracting a wider audience.

Visitors to the exhibition, which is the most prominent cultural event in Qatar, see the scale of interest in accompanying events and pavilions dedicated to official bodies, whether embassies or ministries, or gaming pavilions and educational events for children.

The current Doha exhibition, which runs until January 18th, will witness the participation of 335 publishing houses representing 31 Arab and foreign countries, in addition to many official and private state institutions, at a time when France is a guest of honor to celebrate the cultural year Qatar - France 2020, as well The exhibition includes 797 suites, built on 29 thousand square meters.

However, the organizing committee of the Doha Exhibition said that the multiplicity of wings and events aims to attract all segments of society and tries to make it suitable for the exchange of opinions and not only a corner for buying and selling.

The Director of the Culture Department at the Qatar Ministry of Culture and Sports Hamad Al-Zukiba stressed that the management of the Doha International Book Fair accepts all the opinions of the exhibition, stressing that the opinion of some that the book space in the exhibition did not take its proper space is not related to the truth.

Al-Zukiba explained that this year’s version is the largest in terms of publishing houses and the number of books on display, adding - in an interview with Al-Jazeera Net - that interest in decoration and the aesthetic form of the exhibition aims to attract the public, so that the exhibition has become a meeting place for all segments of society to come and spend long times watching symposia and all the discussions that take place Between the sides of the exhibition.

The goal of this year's edition, according to Zikiba, is to turn the Doha Exhibition into an oasis in which all opinions are exchanged through the platforms provided by the exhibition management this year, pointing out that opinions that criticized interest in events and the accompanying decoration of the exhibition are opinions said inside the exhibition and in the salons that criticized its existence .

This session witnesses the broadest participation of the private Qatar publishing houses by offering hundreds of titles to Qatari and Arab authors, as well as multiple translations of foreign writers, including the Katara Publishing House, where the house’s pavilion includes about 150 titles that include all aspects of literature, while the Hamad Bin Khalifa University Publishing House offers its pavilion More than 100 new titles from various literary and scientific books, and Rosa Publishing publishes 115 titles, of which 49 are new editions in various fields, while Dar Al-Wedd offers 35 publications.

The exhibition also includes a cultural program full of more than four hundred seminars, cultural evening, lectures, workshops and book signatures, as well as children's activities, and the main theater of the exhibition hosts many seminars and lectures.
