“69 people with a diagnosis of acute intestinal infection are being treated at the Kizlyar city hospital ... The situation is under control of the Minister of Health of Dagestan Jamaludin Hajiyibragimov, who is currently in Kizlyar,” the Dagestan Ministry of Health said in a statement.

As specified in the republican headquarters of the IC of Russia, from January 6 to 14, residents of Kizlyar went to hospitals "complaining of pain in the abdomen, accompanied by vomiting."

“The cause of the poisoning could be contaminated drinking water, which is supplied to the houses of residents through water pipelines,” the department’s press service noted.

Upon the poisoning of people, a criminal case has been instituted on the provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life or the health of consumers.

At the end of November 2019, the newspaper Izvestia wrote that a case was opened in Tuva after the poisoning of pupils in the dining room of the cadet corps.
