Al-Jazeera Net correspondent in Iraq, Manar Al-Zubaidi, received an appreciation award in the field of in-depth press reports, within the activities of the "Second Professional Press Conference" held in the city of Sulaymaniyah in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, under the supervision of the Iraqi Network for Investigative Journalism (NERIJ) for the period 12-13 January / January 2020.

Manar received the award for her report published on the Al-Jazeera Net website, "Tragedy of loss ... lifelong homelessness in Iraq", which deals with the suffering of women who are subjected to violence or survivors of domestic violence (especially physical and sexual), and includes an account of three feminist stories and explained the extent of violations that suffer Including abused women, and revealed the absence of legislation that protects them and the poor conditions inside government shelters.

Al-Zubaidi also presented a paper in one of the conference sessions on the lack of balance between men and women and the image of women in the media.

About 100 journalists and academics from different regions of the country, media students from Iraqi universities participated in the conference, and included public sessions and training workshops presented by international trainers, as well as a competition for the best investigations, reports and press stories completed in 2018-2019.

During the conference, prizes were awarded for the best reports and investigative reports, and prizes for important reports and investigations.
