Police training in Borås started in the spring of 2019. In total there are 144 places in Borås, of which 72 are distance education, and so far the school has managed to fill its seats every semester. And after the admission message was sent out, the authority has also seen that there was a queue of students who want to change to Borås.

"Borås is a very popular school," says Anna Lipkin, administrator at the Recruitment Authority.

The University of Borås was already lobbying in 2000 for a police education. But then the college lost the fight. Nor did 2006 go the way. Then the government shut down the investigation. So the college would have to wait a long time.

2018 was the battle to get the coveted education between the University of Borås, the University of Halmstad and the University of the West. In June of that year, the news came that the police had chosen Borås. And in early July, the government made the final decision. Only six months later, the first students began their education in the city.

Ann-Charlotte Dalheim Englund is the director of police training in Borås. This is how she summarizes the first year of police training.
