Sergio Lopez, Haze . Seville, 1978. When he arrived at the University, his companions whispered: 'Look, the shitty cani'. But the rapper of Los Pajaritos finished his studies with the highest honors. Now he prepares oppositions and his sixth album.

Recently, he received at the University of Seville the extraordinary prize for his master's degree in American Studies. Yes, I was lucky enough to stand out from the rest of my classmates. In his speech he said he studied at two universities: the street or the weapons and the letters. In Don Quixote there is a chapter in which Cervantes makes a comparison between two disparate worlds : the one of the letters and the one of the arms. The one with weapons, for me, is the one in my neighborhood, poverty, stigma and ignorance. Years ago, he went through jail and drugs and now he is a disciplined opponent who spends ten hours a day studying? Yes, between eight and ten hours. The passage through drugs was anecdotal: a year and a half of fooling around. Out of rebellion and for not attending a trial, I spent a month and a day in jail in 1999. What is more difficult to spend a day in prison or brood a subject of oppositions? The difficult thing about jail is the fear of not being able to get out of there. A day of study is hard, but you know you are driving your future. The prison impressed you. Did you learn something? I was impressed because it was not my place. I consider myself a noble person with a good heart. I suffered when I saw my mother and my brother crying. It was a turning point in my life. When I entered, I stopped all the drugs I flirted with and even tobacco. It is the example that growing up in one of the poorest neighborhoods in the country, like Los Pajaritos, does not mean that I am already sentenced. I consider myself the best of the bad guys when I have met people who commit crimes. But there are wonderful people in my neighborhood who study, work and work for their family. In the poorer neighborhoods betting houses are proliferating. This type of business hurts all neighborhoods, but when you put it in one in which people spend what little they have in the game, thinking that they will win ... The damage is greater. But, let's not be hypocrites! We see famous footballers announcing bookmakers. What are we encouraging? What was the biggest day of his life? When my son was born, he is four months old. It was also important the day I met my partner Jésica and when I gave the speech at the University. If it was a turning point to enter the prison, it was also to pick up the prize for the end of studies. It was like saying: here is the image of the rapper of the Pajaritos cani, which is the past, and begins the image of a rapper who does serious things and possibly in the future is a teacher of Language and Literature in Secondary School. And when Be a teacher and bump into the chulito in class? Those are the ones that I will like the most. Knowing the difficulties of a marginal neighborhood and the music I do, which has to do with marginality, I have good tools to work with troubled youth and those who do not like to study. Their first model came to be sold in the 'top blanket 'next to the pirated discs. Yes, we started the house on the roof. I sold the model at three euros with the help of my friends. When I found out, I didn't care. In the end we all won. Then a multinational arrived and signed him. Where are there more pirates: on the street or in the music industry? The artists are pirates and those who wear the industry are the Crown. There I leave it.What do you prefer: to hit the ball with your sixth album or take out the oppositions? My goal is to be a teacher. But I am happy with my musical moment. I started as a fashion rapper, but fashions change. Now, after 16 years of musical career, I don't lack the concerts or the affection of my audience.
