On Tuesday, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash concluded his visit to the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, during which he discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation and providing support to the Sudanese government to cross the sensitive stage in Sudan.

Gargash met with a number of senior Sudanese officials and discussed in his talks with them various areas of consolidating the partnership.
Anwar Gargash met both the Chairman of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, the First Deputy Chairman of the Sovereign Council, First General Muhammad Hamdan Daglo, Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdouk, Minister of Presidency of the Council of Ministers Omar Bashir Manis, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Ibrahim Ahmed Al Badawi, and Minister of Industry Trade is civil, Abbasi Madani, ministers of the economic sector, and acting Foreign Minister Al-Siddiq Abdulaziz Abdullah.

Gargash talks focused on bilateral relations and ways of developing them at various levels to achieve the interests of the Sudanese people. Discussions were also discussed with Sudanese officials - within an extensive schedule - in international files of common interest.

The UAE-Sudanese talks at different levels touched on the UAE’s interest in strengthening economic relations and trade cooperation with Sudan, along with food security, energy, and infrastructure.

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs stressed the UAE’s interest in Sudan’s stability and prosperity, achieving prosperity for its brotherly people, and building peace and security.

Gargash explained in press statements that the visit was positive and fruitful, and stressed that Sudan is today "on the right path to become a historical success story and a role model for the rest of the region."

Gargash pointed out that during all the meetings, he appreciated the great appreciation of the UAE's support to Sudan in these transitional conditions. He also discussed communication and follow-up plans to ensure that the Emirati initiatives are effective within the context of the Sudanese government's efforts to achieve stability and prosperity.

Gargash stressed that the UAE is committed to providing political support to Sudan and its people, and considered that the UAE and Sudan "must form an alliance of hope and optimism in our region, with the aim of promoting a positive vision based on providing opportunities for comprehensive development and tolerance."

Anwar Gargash reiterated the UAE's support for all efforts aimed at achieving security in Sudan and protecting the independence and stability of state institutions in it.

He explained that the UAE is working in this spirit with the Sudanese leadership to ensure the success of the current transitional period in achieving security, development and prosperity for the future of Sudan.

"Our relationship with Sudan is historic," Gargash said in a tweet on his Twitter account. It is rooted and renewed in our endeavor to build a modern relationship and a diversified partnership ... The Sudanese community, which amounts to one hundred thousand Sudanese citizens, contributes to the renaissance of the Emirates while it is in its second country, and the appreciation that it touched in Khartoum for the Emirates and for its leadership is a reflection of this joint effort.
