He had been lost for three weeks in a tropical forest infested with crocodiles. Milan Lemic, a 29-year-old Australian, was found alive and in good health, police said on Tuesday. The young man had disappeared on December 22 when his vehicle got stuck in the Daintree Forest, in the state of Queensland (northeast of Australia).

Great news: The Victorian man reported missing in the Upper Daintree on December 23 has been located safe and well. Police would like to thank all the volunteers who gave their time over Christmas to help search for the man. https://t.co/AwQRyY5h3T pic.twitter.com/FcnYePh2Dr

At first, the police feared that Milan Lemic was eaten by one of the many crocodiles living in this region. But after several days of research, she did not manage to find a reptile large enough to have been able to devour it.

The young man was finally found Monday several miles from his abandoned vehicle. "Since he spent three weeks in a tropical forest, he is in good physical condition," the police said in a statement, adding that he had survived by eating wild fruits and berries.
