With these new sanctions, Washington reaffirms its unwavering support for Juan Guaido. The US Treasury Department therefore decided to place Luis Parra, its two vice-presidents and four other opposition deputies on its blacklist. This means that their assets are frozen and that they can no longer do business with American companies or citizens. Sanctions which, according to the press release, " could be withdrawn if they sided alongside the Venezuelan people and Juan Guaido ".

Many countries have also condemned the attempt to oust the opponent from the presidency of the Parliament. But despite this support, Juan Guaido is in very bad shape and his calls to protest no longer take hold . Especially since the United States has increased sanctions against Venezuela over the past year, nothing seems to weaken the power of Nicolas Maduro, stronger than ever.
