David Calhoun, who officially took office as chief executive of Boeing on Monday, calls on the group to be "humble" and "transparent" as it goes through the most serious crisis of its 103 years of history, said its entourage .

"He wants to make sure that we have an adequate (corporate) culture," said a source. "Which means being more humble and transparent," she added, as the aircraft manufacturer is working to get the 737 MAX back into service, nailed to the ground for ten months after two close accidents that killed 346 people.

David Calhoun takes office after a hectic week for Boeing, marked by the disclosure of embarrassing messages from employees in which they mock regulators, airlines and question the skills of their engineering colleagues.
