Group rape uncovers a network of drugs and prostitution of internal children in juvenile centers

The sexual assault allegedly committed by at least half a dozen young people in an apartment in the Korean neighborhood during the early Christmas Eve could only be the tip of an iceberg in which drugs, money and prostitution would intermingle. A murky affair that would have dozens of young people - boys and girls - as victims of adult depravity, and the children's centers of the island, both that of Es Pinaret and others managed by the Mallorcan Institute of Social Socials (IMAS) , as negligent responsible.

According to knowledgeable sources of the investigation, facts such as the one that is now about clarifying are not isolated. Other similar cases would have been reported by workers in these centers after detecting inmate leaks. Escapes that, in numerous occasions, end in episodes like the one described by the girl of only 13 years in her complaint before the National Police.

Several of those reported by the young woman and the victim herself reside in various centers for supervised minors on the island. From one of them the girl escaped on December 24, and from them they also escape, like her, other boys who enter, from then on, in a dangerous spiral of sex and drugs, without any parental control and, logically, without the necessary maturity to face the temptations that are served to them in tray.

Some lawyers who usually work in this type of case warn of this phenomenon and emphasize the "bad management" that, in their opinion, exists in the reception centers. Bulk errors, they point out, that end up causing situations like the one that was tried just a couple of months ago, when a transsexual maintained relations with two of these minors in the bathroom of a bar in the Plaza de las Columnas in exchange for 20 Euros

The "fondness for young children" that had, in the words of one of the victims, the then accused is the engine that feeds cases that reproduce with some frequency, and to which now the police follow the track, especially as a result happened on the floor of Korea last Christmas Eve.

In this matter, according to sources in the case, everything started in a bar in Son Gotleu, in which it is not difficult to access young people of this profile in exchange for drugs or a small amount of money. On many other occasions, however, contacts are made in homes in various neighborhoods of Palma, almost always taking advantage of the hours when children flee from the shelters.

Regarding what happened on the floor of Korea, the report includes the declaration of the complainant in which she claimed to feel fear, and therefore requested the possibility of being transferred to a juvenile center on the peninsula.

The young woman, as this newspaper has learned, grew up in a marginal environment, and who was taken over by the public administration to avoid the environments that forced her to visit her mother, would have been treated by psychiatric specialists due to her complex situation. That report is in fact requested by one of the defenses, which continues to maintain that, in the case of the only adult arrested, he did not even step on the room in which the sexual relations took place.

The latter, interned in a center for the commission of several misdemeanors, offered from the beginning both his mobile phone and his DNA, underlining that he was in the house that night, but he did it accompanied by his girlfriend and his sister, and without never being aware of what might be happening in one of the rooms, where multiple sexual assault allegedly occurred.
