The chairman of the PS group in the Senate Patrick Kanner denounced Sunday the "organized, even cynical" nature of the government's method for its pension reform, seeing in the pivotal age "a red cloth".
"We can wonder about the perhaps organized, even cynical, nature of this affair," said Mr. Kanner in the program "Dimanche en politique" on France 3, the day after the "compromise" proposed by the Prime Minister. Edouard Philippe asked the social partners to withdraw the pivotal age of 64.
"We have just lived two years of improvisation, two years of preparation, two years of sight navigation. And from there is that the red cloth waved by Mr. Prime Minister on December 11 saying + pivotal age +, was not a provocation to lead then to a disengagement to say + I gave in on something +? ", he asked himself.
"In the text itself (signed by the Prime Minister), it says" I am ready to withdraw the pivotal age, but you have until April 30 to find a solution. "Morality: we make fun of the world. unplayable in time, it is preparing with the objective help of Medef the return of the pivotal age ", protested Patrick Kanner.
After asking for the "withdrawal of the reform", "an unidentified legislative object" for which "no impact study has been done", the senator for the North warned: "What we do not want, c 'is that a parliamentary debate begins when it has not been concluded between the social partners ".
"I am surprised that the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister did not think of meeting at least the group presidents, listen to us", exclaimed Patrick Kanner, before asking: "What is the intention who is behind this organized blur? "
The examination of the pension reform project, presented to the Council of Ministers on January 24, must begin on February 17 in the National Assembly before passing to the Senate in April.
