“Iran oppresses its people and concentrates terrorism throughout the Middle East. This led to the deaths of 176 innocent people and deceived the international community, ”Netanyahu wrote on his Twitter page.

The prime minister announced his intention to continue to be an "uncompromising" opponent of Iran, to fight "with his attempts to achieve nuclear potential."

According to RIA Novosti, during a cabinet meeting, Netanyahu accused Iran of lying, which "completely contradicts the way a civilized country should act."

“Iran lied. Just as they lied about their secret nuclear program, they are now lying about the Ukrainian plane. From the very beginning they knew that it was they who brought him down. They knew that he was shot down unintentionally, but they lied intentionally. They deceived the whole world ... We express our condolences to the victims of Iran’s deceit and negligence, ”he said.

Earlier, Kazakh President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said that Iran’s recognition of guilt for the downed Ukrainian plane is an important decision.

The Ukrainian Boeing 737 crashed on January 8 shortly after taking off from Tehran. The victims of the crash were 176 citizens of Iran, Canada, Ukraine, Sweden, Afghanistan, Germany and the UK.

On January 11, Tehran admitted that the country's air defense system mistakenly shot down a passenger plane, mistaking it for a cruise missile.
