Pyramids, the richest club in the competition, continues to hold its rank: the Egyptian club clinched its fourth group victory in four days by defeating El Masry (2-0). It becomes the first club to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Confederation Cup.

Four wins in four days! Pyramids FC is the only team to have achieved this performance in the two African competitions combined (Champions League and Confederation Cup). That says it all the devouring ambition of this team built at a cost of millions (32 million euros in player transfers in 2018) and which aims to impose itself in Africa. Trained by Frenchman Sebastien Desabre, the Heirs of the Pharaohs (their nicknames) are really starting to make a name for themselves on the continent for their first participation in an African Cup.

In this group stage of the Confederation Cup, Pyramids demonstrated its power with a fourth victory Sunday against another Egyptian club, El Masry (2-0) over the achievements of the Burkinabè Eric Traoré (21st) and the 'Egyptian Nabil Dunga (71st). With four wins, 13 goals scored for two conceded, the Desabre men are sure to finish first in Pool A and can see two days to go before the end of the Pool phase. This is an opportunity to focus on the Egyptian championship where they are ranked 5th at 11 points from the leader Al Ahly.

Berkane falls in DRC

For Berkane, the last finalist of this Confederation Cup, it is not yet won despite a leading position in Pool C. The Algerian club was caught on the lawn of Congolese Motema Pembe (1-0 ) and see the Zambians of Zanaco, winners of the Beninese of Esea, return to a point behind in the standings.

The card of the day is signed for the moment by the Nigerians of Enyimba who flew over the debates against the Algerians of Paradou (4-1).
