When the small town of Björklinge woke up on Saturday, many had a hard time grasping what had happened. Social media was flooded with condolences and pictures of the flowers left and candles lit at Björklinge church and at the place where he died.

In the community that lies 2 km north of Uppsala, more than 3,000 inhabitants live. Here is an all-knowing-all-spirit, and those who did not know the boy directly probably knew someone who did. Few have been left untouched.

- He is very popular, by everyone. The whole of Björklinge was in mourning yesterday, says Tobbe Hed, who was a friend of the deceased teenager.

"It must not have happened"

On Saturday, both the leisure yard and the church were open to those who wanted to meet and mourn. Tobbe Hed and a group of friends went to church as well as the place where the teenage boy died to light candles and share memories.

- You can't believe that to be true, you are still waiting for the "good morning snap" from him. What happened must not have happened. Not the best in the world.

On Saturday, stores in the resort flagged at half bar. Several local sports teams have also honored the boy's memory by keeping quiet for their matches and wearing black armbands.

When schools open on Monday, Uppsala municipality has crisis preparedness groups in place.
